Cyprus Night is back this Friday at Platea. Go along for a fun filled family friendly evening of great Cypriot entertainment and food. Booking is essential as these nights get busy.

 

Friday 5th May 2017: Pafos2017, Hazardous Travel, Old Power Paphos,  Exhibition Opening, 7:00pm

It is a dual exhibition with works by Andy Hatziadamou and Baki Bogac Cypriot artists, which ypomnimatizei a true story, indicative of the force is the art of transcending the barriers and borders. The Baki Bogac, architect and sculptor, discovered and saved sculptures, paintings, photographs and other objects which Andy Hatziadamou had left in Famagusta, when Greek Cypriot inhabitants of the city were expelled in 1974. After two decades in 1993, artworks that looked the Baki all this time, finally surrendered to Andy Hatziadamou family in Paphos. The tragic irony is that Andy had died in 1990 aged just 54 years. Since then, his family maintains a close relationship with Baki Bogac which invited in Paphos, on the occasion of the Cultural Capital of Europe, to meet for the first time, even mentally, the Andy Hatziadamou in a joint report. Duration: 5 May 2017 – June 4, 2017, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Free 

 

Saturday 6th May 2017: Street Life Festival 2017, Saripolou and Athenon Streets, Limassol historical centre, Limassol, 9.00am-7.00pm:

Cyprus : Street Life Festival 2017

10 years Street Life Festival, by Gifts and Gadgets and The Copy Shop, for one more year brings the city centre of Limassol back to life!! Apart from the amazing graffiti drawings, many other activities will draw the attention of the public making their day as memorable as possible: incredible choreographies, cool stunts with skateboards, jugglers and street performers. Visitors can also experience the street market consisting of over 50 different stalls with handmade jewellery, handcrafts, games, dog accessories, furniture and other.

 

Saturday 6th May 2017: Solo Piano Concert with Leonid Nesterov, Technopolis 20, Pafos, 8:00pm:

Leonid Nesterov after a series of jazz concerts collaborating with different virtuoso musicians, he presents a solo piano concert. The pianist will perform his own compositions, improvisational music and jazz standards. Leonid began his music career in Latvia and has lived in Limassol since 2010. He performs with different musicians around Cyprus sharing his passion for jazz performing with various musicians from Baltic States, Germany, Cyprus, Russia and Israel on constant basis arranging concerts all other the Island.

The “Travelers World” at the Cultural Capital program, refer to visitors to Paphos from their conquerors, the travelers and tourists to refugees as they arrived here seeking refuge. The history of immigration marked by a sense of nostalgia, pain removal and the desire to return, and finds more direct expression in music and songs from around the world. In these songs of exile Background sorrows and desires that Stamps; flint ?? a complex (and sadly topical) sociopolitical phenomenon such as refugees and migration. In this context, Music Schools in Cyprus sing stories, pain, passions and feelings of people leaving, people crave to return and the people left behind, wrapped in a long farewell. Participates Melina Kana, one of the major voices of Greek music.

The Organization for European Capital of Culture 2017 Paphos under the heading The Garden of Flavors brings up from the seabed on 280 bottles of wine that had pontistei 2015 in cooperation with the Cypriot winemakers, the Sommelier Association and the Cyprus Divers Association.
It is a spectacular and special action since the lifting of the wines will akoulouthisei testing and tasting and the corresponding 280 bottles that were stored in oinoipoieiou conditions. Free admission

An exhibition that includes paintings, engravings and sculptures from Europe and Latin America, selected based on the inspiration they draw from Christianity. The exhibition offers the opportunity to study the different approaches and the variety of methods used for the representation of the same themes. Free entrance.
